FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DO I PAY THE ENTIRE RATE UPFRONT?
No. We request a deposit of HALF your total amount to lock in your shoot date and begin our pre-production prep. On the day of production, you will pay the remaining funds for us to continue into post production and receive your final copy of the footage.
Can we provide the script for our scene?
Yes! However, we do ask to review the scene to make sure it follows this criteria:
- no longer than 1 to 1 1/2 pages in length (see why below).
- the location is accessible and appropriate for filming.
- It makes sense and best features you.
If you request a longer scene, our rate may increase due to additional time and coverage on set, as well as the time it will take to edit and color grade a lengthier scene in post.
Do you PROVIDE a Make-Up Artist on set?
We do not have a designated MUA or Hair Stylist. However, if you would like for us to hire someone for your shoot, we will just request you cover their day rate. You are also more than welcome to provide your own MUA to help you on set. Otherwise, plan on coming camera ready.
Can we add a score or music clip to our scene?
Yes! You have two options:
- You can either provide us with a clip that we will include at no extra cost.
- We can provide the music at an additional cost of $50.00
Do you cast a scene partner or do we have to provide someone to read with us?
Either way! Casting is part of the package, so if you prefer we do a casting session and find someone that fits the role in your scene, we can do that! Or you are welcome to bring along a friend you feel comfortable with that works well for the role in the scene. Some clients decide that they prefer bringing a friend to split the cost. Up to you!
DO WE HAVE TO USE YOUR LOCATIONS?
No! We are very open to scouting and filming at new locations. We just need to make sure the location meets the following criteria:
- Safe and secure for filming; meaning you have attained a film permit, insurance, and a location agreement from its owner.
- Accessible for loading and unloading equipment.
- Accessible restroom.
- Accessible parking.
We also prefer to scout the location before your shoot date to prepare for blocking, what equipment will be required, and to formulate a proper shot list.
WILL WE BE FILMING ALL OF MY SCENES IN ONE DAY?
This depends entirely on when the location is available and the time of day your scenes take place. Most of our scenes roughly take as little as three to four hours maximum to shoot. So we will schedule your scenes appropriately based on day light, locations, and how much time we have in between to make a company move and set up.
Will my final copy of the footage have the ability to be uploaded on any media format?
Yes. We send you a link to Dropbox or Vimeo where you can download a copy of your scene which works with youtube, Vimeo, LACasting, etc… you can also use it for any future editing when creating your reel portfolio.
DO YOU EDIT REELS TOGETHER?
Our job is to provide you with individual scenes FOR your portfolio, but we also are happy to take any footage you have and create a reel compilation for you, so long as your footage is in the appropriate format for our editing system (Adobe Premier).
We charge $150 for three clips and any additional clip after that is $25 each.
